A Rock Pool
(Reflet
dans l’eau)
An image of thought is here,
reflected on the water,
and time is held at
bay
for a moment lost
in a tear
left behind by the
ocean.
Not forgotten, but remaining.
A crystal window flickering
and calling to the
man
who is there, or
near.
The wind upon the water,
chancing with the
sunlight’s spell,
catches the eye and
draws him.
With footsteps in wetted sands
he knows of new
beginnings.
A desire to see again inside
inspires him to the
rocks.
A step and climb once more
amongst the web of
memories
that are his
thoughts, now.
For he has been here many times
in life and
dreams, alone.
A look into the water
sees his face, the
dreamer
- alone he
thinks he feels.
But another is watching with him,
seeing all his
searching eyes behold.
They, too, see the fruits
of Neptune’s
marine flowers
that dance below the
mirror
to the tunes of
the breeze
and the freedom of
his hand.
Returning, he seldom knows
of the dreams of
another
and it’s just a
tide away
when his footprints
will be washed away
and time begins
again.
