Greylake RSPB Reserve
This is a new reserve located between Taunton and Street, on the A361.
It is a peaty area of low-lying land which was ploughed and drained in the 1970s for arable crops. It was cultivated until the RSPB bought it in 2003.
Is is open at all times and has free entry.

Species:
- Snipe, lapwing, redshank and curlew breed here, along with yellow wagtail, skylark, reed bunting, sedge warbler and reed warbler.
- In winter there are flocks of lapwing and golden plover.
Facilities:
- The large hide is rather plush, situated 550yd from the car park and is wheelchair/pushchair accessible along a 770yd boardwalk loop.
- There are seasonal guided walks with bookings taken all year round (call West Sedgemoor office 01458 252805).

How to get there:
- By bus: Route 29 Taunton to Wells runs past the reserve entrance (request stop).
- By bicycle: The reserve is very close to the National Cycle Network, Route 3, Bridgwater to Glastonbury section.
- By road: the reserve is clearly signposted (brown signs) off the A361 Taunton to Glastonbury road, between the villages of Othery and Greinton.
